The Overview
This Lab provides participates an opportunity to learn and/or expand their knowledge of WORDPRESS and explore opportunities to monetize what’s learned.
WordPress powers 26.4% of the Web, and it’s on the rise. It is still by far the most used CMS, with 59.4% market share. Technical and non-technical alike are using it to build over 500 sites each day. WordPress experience is consistently being listed as a job skill on various job boards.
CareerYouCreate WORDPRESS Project-Based Learning (PBL) Labs is designed to expose students to real-world business opportunities in an innovative learning environment.
What will be covered?
This Lab familiarizes students with creating a multi-level website using the WordPress content management system. Each student will learn to design and create websites including pages, posts, upload plugins, embed media, export, import and back-up sites.
Getting Started
Register your domain, develop your profile, and name your site.
Learn your way around WP
We will explore the WP dashboard (Post , Media, Pages, Appearance, PlugIns, Users, Tools, Settings)
Choosing A Theme
In this section you will become farmilar with uploading and customizing the selected theme.
Setting Up Pages, Menus and Post
In this session we will walk you through setting up your home page and navigation menus and post pages.
Titles and Tags
In this section we will briefly cover the importants of how to properly title and tags your pages and post for SEO.
Browse and Test
In this session we will browse and test your site from various browsers and setting like a phone and tablet devise.
